In a press announcement dated May 29, 2026, Coastal Carolina Bancshares, Inc., the parent company of Coastal Carolina National Bank, and Beacon Holding Company, Inc., the parent company of Beacon Community Bank, jointly announced that we have executed a definitive merger of equals agreement. The combined bank holding company will be headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, remain Coastal Carolina Bancshares, Inc., and continue trading under the ticker symbol CCNB. The combined bank, following the system conversion expected in early 2027, will be rebranded as Beacon Bank, N.A., and will remain headquartered in Myrtle Beach. After the conversion, the company will have sixteen branches and a loan production office serving markets throughout the coastal Carolinas from Wilmington, NC, to Charleston, SC, and inland to the upstate.
By joining forces, we are creating a stronger organization better positioned to serve you for years to come. This merger is designed to enhance your banking experience while preserving the relationships and services you value today. There will be no interruption to your banking relationship as a result of this announcement. You will continue working with the same trusted bankers and support teams you know, while gaining access to a greater network of locations and conveniences.
The merger remains subject to customary regulatory and shareholder approval, and we will keep you informed throughout the process. In the meantime, please continue to bank as usual. Although there’s nothing you need to do at this time, we’ve created this webpage to keep you informed about key dates and other updates. As we get closer to the merger date, you will receive a merger guide to help make the transition as smooth and simple as possible.
As the transaction progresses, you’ll find this is not just a merger of two financial institutions; it’s a blending of strengths, banking conveniences, and service enhancements, so that we can help you, your business, and the communities we serve prosper.
We look forward to serving you as we move forward, together.
Sincerely,
